My trailer is a 9 horse reverse slant Turnbow, the partitions are fully barred and every other one has rubber hanging down to the floor to keep colts from going under when I'm hauling mares and colts.
On all hauls they have water available at all times.
The width of each stall is 33 1/2" x 8 feet long. I can pull partitions out to make box stalls for mares and colts and larger breeds. There are drop windows both head and tail, with guards on the windows so they can't get their heads out.
Each
stall
is
bedded
with
4
inches
of
premium
wood
shavings
for
comfort
and
hygiene.
Special
accommodations
are
made
for
foals,
special
needs,
or
owner
request.
I haul all my horses loose so they can get their heads down, I have found they travel more
comfortably
when
they
can
drop
their
head
below
their
withers. When traveling I stop and give them a short break every 4 hrs.
This
way
I
can
check
them
and
their
water.
I
keep
them
on
a
morning
and
night
schedule
for
their
hay.
I prefer not to stop and over night them at horse hotels (there is a chance of them coming in contact with some disease from other horses that have stayed there). I will though if you want me to. The cost generally is $25.00 per night, per head plus a hotel room for me. This is on top of the
transport fee.
